Last Friday I went to Rosie's birthday Party. Rosie is a girl in my grade and it was so nice of her to invite me because I am only new and she didn't know me very well yet. I brought her a make your own ballerina kit. When we got there we had to put the presents on the table. There was a painting table all set up to make T shirts.
We had to pick the size T shirt we wanted, then put rubber bands around it about 20cm apart. Then we painted in between the rubber bands.
When we took the rubber bands off, it looked like this. Do you like it?
Mum says I can use it as a Pyjama top.
After that we got a drink and some party food. There were bees all around the juice. I guess they wanted a drink too! Rosie's mum put out a dish of jam for them to eat instead. But they didn't!
We had a donut eating race. Apparently I came 5th. The girl next to me in this photo is Georgia and she came 2nd. I liked eating the donuts and even ate one of the spares.
One of the other games was picking up mini marshmallows with chopsticks. You had to do as many as you could in a minute. I only got 6. It was tricky! Most people got over 20. You should try it.
My favourite game was pass the parcel because that is the only game I won! I got to open the last layer and it was a big block of bubble chocolate. One girl wanted it so bad she said she would pay me $15.00 for it. I said no, because it was a chocolate I hadn't tried before.
Last of all, Rosie got to hit a kitty cat piñata. Lots of lollies came out that I got to take home with some helium balloons to share with my brothers.
I have a riddle for you which I will tell you the answer for next post.
What is black when clean and white when dirty?
Tricky huh. Get your thinking caps on.
Love Lucy.
Hello Lucy,
ReplyDeleteI hope you have saved some bubble chocolate for me because it is one of my favorites. I miss you bringing me up some brownie when You and Mummy used to make it. It's no use me making it when Granddad can't eat it.
It is 7 am and there are a Tui and a Bellbird outside the window singing. Yesterday, a Kereru came in for his daily drink from the bird bowl.i had changed around the water bowl and a plant pot and he was very confused. He landed on the pot and you could see him thinking :" Where has she put it, stupid old lady?" And then, he saw it and he hopped all around the edge of the pot and then onto the water bowl. He shuffled his butt as if to say : " I wish she would leave well alone" and then he had a big long drink. In the afternoon, there were three lined up for their turn for a drink. I took some photos to show you when I come.
I love you Tshirt. It is really cool. Tie dying is messy but fun. Those were cool ideas for a party
Sorry Lucy - published on Mum's blogspot - AGAIN
ReplyDeleteWhat fun to read your blog today Lucy about the party, I love the T shirt and wondered if you could make me one to wear as pyjama top too!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad that you have been included in the birthday party invites, and I bet you are thinking already what kind of party you will have when it gets to be your turn!

Hello Lucy
ReplyDeleteCaleb tells me that you all had a skype on Saturday, Caleb Max and Leila told me all about your home. I like the t shirt you made...you chose great colours and the pattern is awesome, I would wear it everyday, not just for PJ's. I think I would have a hard time picking up marshmallows with chopsticks...it looked like a fun game though. I hope you are all well and happy together. lots of love, Aunty Kathy
Wow Lucy. It sounds fun. You write so well it felt like I was doing the games with you. Glad you won pass the parcel, it's nice to win something at these parties. Im sure you will be gathering lots of ideas for your own party. What nz games would you teach them?
